Paleontology teacher training course

The next 9th and 10th of June will take place in our centre the course “EDUCATE IN PALEONTOLOGY” organized by the CEFIRE of FP of Valencia. From the headquarters of the Big History Centre in Aras de los Olmos, participants will be able to learn from professionals in the field the value of Palaeontology as an educational resource and from which didactic strategies it can be approached to promote reflective, critical, imaginative and logical thinking in students.
Throughout the course, different topics will be addressed, including: the importance and usefulness of palaeontology and fossils as an educational resource, current palaeontological legislation, the importance of palaeontology as heritage, as well as providing teachers with strategies for the incorporation of palaeontology and palaeontological heritage in the different educational stages.
Apart from the course timetable, participants can enjoy other experiences of scientific and environmental knowledge offered by the Big History centre and the municipality: the planetarium, the Eyes of Hypatia, astronomical observations, the Ecomuseum, the historical-artistic and natural heritage, the ethnobotanical garden…
