Fighting forest fires

Aras de los Olmos and the adjacent territories share a rich forest heritage to which we are inextricably linked and whose protection requires a coordinated intervention to ensure its sustainability.

In this village we work preventively –Forest Management Plan and Fire Prevention Plan– to minimize the risks of fires through different means –promotion of extensive livestock, use of biomass as an energy source, …–, but mechanisms have also been articulated to face in the most effective way possible the reactive actions in the face of a fire declared in our mountains. Finally, research on our forest mass is encouraged to facilitate the adoption of measures adapted to our territory with the support of specialized science.
