The Ecomuseum venue

The Ecomuseum in Aras de los Olmos is a space designed to preserve and enjoy the cultural, historical and natural heritage of the Serranía Valenciana mountains, in general, and of Aras de los Olmos, in particular.

The Ecomuseum is open to all the richness that this territory treasures, although it concentrates the visitor’s attention on the building that serves as its headquarters in the centre of the town centre. Throughout the spaces that occupy the entrance hall and the two upper floors, there is a succession of display cases and exhibition areas where visitors can explore the entire history of this corner of the Serranía, from prehistoric times to the beginnings of modernity. The remains of a rich human fabric of Iberian, Roman, Visigothic, Muslim, Christian and modern times are joined by music, stories, customs, and beliefs, prefiguring the story of what we have been, are and will be.

In the building there are special spaces for children to develop their imagination by delving into the practices of construction, food grinding or the manufacture of fabrics in times gone by.
