A GREAT STORY

The great challenges of the future - Democratic governance

Government for all

The Big History Centre is aligned with the Goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and aspires to build a democratic society that has equality for all, and especially equality between men and women, as its government compass.

The activities of the Big History Centre aim to contribute to the fight to reduce inequalities caused by such varied reasons as sexual choice and identities, age, disability, race, ethnicity, or religion. With this objective in mind, it promotes actions to facilitate the development of personal autonomy and independent living for people in situations of need.

And it does so especially in the field of the fight for equality between men and women. To this end, it has promoted and supported the drafting and approval of the 1st Municipal Plan for Equal Opportunities for Women and Men in Aras de los Olmos and actions such as Festidiversidad, the Rural Women’s Conference or the Violet November on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, 25N.
